• Did our safety maps of the room
• recorded dates for reading reports (see the whiteboard if necessary - the entire list is there!)
• Discussed the Basic Skills #1

For Tomorrow:

• Bring supplies if necessary
• Bring goggles if you have them (I'll hand out the new ones to those who don't have them)
• Have Chapter 1 Section 1 notes ready to go for discussion
• Get the safety contract signed by your parents - due FRIDAY!
• WEAR SHOES - we'll be in lab!

Tomorrow:

• Short lab - identifying the glassware and the density of water
• Final discussion of the safety procedures and lab equipment

• Updated supplies brought in list
• Started the Lab Safety Orientation (just a bit...)

General Chemistry:
Today we did:

• I checked for supplies
• Students listed characteristics of good/bad teachers/students - Trimble will compile tonight for discussion tomorrow on the additional guidelines for the class
• Students did a Learning Style Worksheet
• We checked out books to everyone
• We drew cards and signed up for our Reading Reports (a.k.a. Science in the News)
• I introduced my blogpage
• I reminded the students of the 'free stuff cupboard'

For tomorrow:

• Bring supplies if you forgot them!!!
• Read and take notes over Chapter 1, Section 1 in your textbook
• Complete the first section of the Basic Skills Workbook (handed out in class)

This is where I hope to post assignments on a daily basis, so check back often (especially if you are absent!). All blogs will be archived for the whole term, so you can always check back to see what we did as well.
